What do you really need?

There are six universal basic human needs. And, what's important to know that our behavior and daily tendecies from a social and emotional stand point will be determined based how these basic needs are met. There are four needs of the personality and two needs of the spirit.

Needs of the Personality:

1. Security. We all need a certain amount of security. We need to know that there is more than a reasonable chance that no harm will be done to us. We need to know that the basic necessities of life will be there for us. We need to feel secure.
2. Acceptance. We will do many different things to get this need filled. For some of us we get pulled into a prison of isolation and believe it's ok. We tell ourselves we are just wired that way. In my opinion that's not really true. If we are really honest we are just protecting ourselves from pending rejection. As you can see we all need some level of acceptance because god made us this way.

3. Significance. Every one needs to feel that they are important. That they matter. That they are worthy of respect. That, in some way, they are special.

4. Connection and love. No man is an island. We need to be loved and appreciated. We need to connect with other people. We need to belong in someone's heart and mind.

Needs of the spirit:

1. Growth. We need to feel that we are evolving, that we are improving. We need to feel that we are on an upward course of self-development and self-fulfillment.

2. Spiritual Connection. It is just normal to feel the need to connect with God. Wether we will openly admit it or not we all long relationship with the unseen god and we will reach out to many different religions and rituals to try to fill this need. We need this connection because deep inside we realize that we have created ourselves and there is a deeper wisdom beyond that of man that we need to live with peace and hope beyond what we see and experience. their are many views about how we are to fulfill this need but I will stand and present Jesus Christ as the door that leads to this spiritual need being fulfilled.

John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
